Embark on an unforgettable 10-day photography tour to Lake Kerkini, Greece, and Bulgaria, capturing breathtaking images of rare and majestic birds and other wildlife. This adventure is designed for photographers who want to experience up-close encounters with Dalmatian pelicans, birds of prey, and high-altitude species in stunning natural settings.
Our journey begins at Lake Kerkini, one of Europe’s premier bird photography locations. Spend three days photographing the striking Dalmatian pelicans at close range, capturing their elegant movements, dramatic fishing behaviors, and intricate feather details. We will have exclusive access to boat trips, ensuring optimal angles and lighting for your shots.
Our last day in Greece, we shift our focus to the scenic beauty surrounding the lake. Photograph the serene landscapes, misty waters, and iconic water buffalo, which roam the wetlands, offering unique opportunities for environmental portraits and storytelling compositions.
Crossing into Bulgaria, we dedicate the next five days to photographing birds from strategically placed hides. In remote, wild locations, you’ll have the chance to capture spectacular shots of vultures, eagles, and other raptors as they soar above dramatic landscapes or perch in perfect morning light. This is an unparalleled opportunity to witness and photograph intimate bird behaviors without disturbance. Jackals are also known to be present during these hide excursions.
Our final day takes us to Mount Vitosha, just outside Sofia, where we seek out the elusive spotted nutcracker. These charismatic birds, set against the backdrop of an alpine forest, provide the perfect conclusion to our tour.
