Photograph Musk Ox and Northern Lights in Nome, Alaska

Come to the remote region of Nome, Alaska to photograph the pre-historic and majestic Musk Ox!  Autumn in Nome becomes a vast tundra, blanketed in hues of reds, oranges and golds, a stunning backdrop to photograph these stately creatures.

With the help of local guides there will also be the opportunity to see and photograph other wildlife that reside in Nome such as; grizzly bear, wolverine, wolf, reindeer and fox.  Nome, is also renowned among birdwatchers for its incredible diversity of bird species, including:

  • Blackpoll warbler
  • Northern Waterthrush
  • Golden Crowned Sparrow
  • Lapland Longspur
  • Snow Bunting
  • McKay’s Bunting
  • Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch
  • White-winged Crossbill
  • Hoary Redpoll
  • and much, much more!

When conditions are prime, we will also spend some time photographing the Northern Lights.

The northern lights, or aurora borealis, in Nome, Alaska, are a breathtaking natural phenomenon. Nome, located on the western coast of Alaska along the Bering Sea, offers some of the most stunning views of this celestial display due to its remote location and minimal light pollution.

Located on the Southern Seward Peninsula on the Bering Sea, Nome is the perfect destination to experience stillness and isolation.  Completely unplug and immerse yourself in your craft with fellow women photographers.  Your accommodations are rustic and comfortable cabins where everyone will have their own bedroom.

Nome is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, if you are looking for a unique experience and one-of-a-kind photos this is the trip for you!

About your leader.…….

Traci Sepkovic

I am a wildlife and nature photographer from Central PA. I have a lifelong love of the outdoors and birdwatching. Never without some sort of camera in hand, in 2009 I purchased my first DSLR camera. I took it on my hikes and also photographed my kids’ sporting events. In 2016, I combined birdwatching with photography. This is when I discovered wildlife photography as my passion. I enjoy the challenge of capturing my subjects in a way that tells a story about them and their habitat. I have learned so much by just being still and observing wildlife and I enjoy connecting people who may not be outdoor enthusiasts or able to get outside with the wildlife I am blessed to spend time with.
We should always be working to develop our skills and can learn both by challenging ourselves and studying the work of other artists. Most importantly, we should spend as much time as we can outdoors. Over the years I have worked with photographers 1:1 to help develop their skills and challenge them to get creative with their work. I look forward to connecting with small groups of like-minded photographers on our women-only tours.
