ALASKA – KATMAI/KODIAK BROWN BEARS – TRIP 1
AUGUST 16TH -22ND, 2025
Home to over 3,000 bears, Kodiak Island is a large expanse of verdant landscape and scenic coastline. It is from this vast, remote wilderness that we will based for this exciting opportunity to photograph one of Alaska’s fiercest predators, Brown Bears!
Join Wildlife Photographer, Sarah E. Devlin on this bucket-list photography tour. Taking advantage of Katmai’s close proximity via plane, you will have maximum opportunity to photograph bears in both Kodiak and Katmai. Expect to see lots of the classic bear activity from ground level, including fishing. Moms with cubs are also a strong possibility. You will be accompanied by two local, experienced bear guides who are also photographers and know how to give you the best photographic opportunities while ensuring your safety.
About your leader….
Sarah E. Devlin is a wildlife and nature photographer and the founder of Women In Wildlife Photography LLC. Her love for nature photography began many years ago as a single mother to three children, when nature became her sanctuary. Since then Sarah has developed a deep connection with nature through her photography that has transformed and improved the quality of her life. It is her passion to encourage others, especially women, to find the therapeutic quality of nature through a lens. Today she travels internationally leading and organizing wildlife photography tours for women and helping to promote other professional women wildlife photographers. Sarah has a unique style to her photography which has garnered several awards including Audubon and NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association) top 100. Her work has been featured in publications such as Natures Best Photography and Wild Planet. Sarah is based in the US on the beautiful shores of Cape Cod.

Payment Schedule: Payment in full is due by Feb. 15th, 2025. If you would like payments broken down into two invoices, please make this request after paying the deposit.
*If you request a shared room, we will do our best to pair you with another participant. However if we are unable to find a roommate for you, the single supplement will be applied to your final invoice.
AUGUST 16TH -22ND, 2025
Day 1 (Aug. 16th) Arrival
Guests fly into Kodiak (ADQ) and take shuttle to the Best Western/Kodiak Inn. Depending on arrival times, dinner will be as a group at the hotel or nearby.
Day 2 (Aug. 17th) Katmai
After an early breakfast at the hotel, your guides will pick the group up and transfer to the air strip for a short flight to Katmai. Full day of bear photography ending at 6 or 7pm. We will not be stopping for lunch so please be sure to eat a full breakfast. Protein bars will be provided throughout the day. Return to Kodiak, dinner back at the hotel or nearby.
Day 3 (Aug. 18th) Kodiak
Breakfast at hotel or nearby coffee shop then you will be off to explore Kodiak. Bears will be the focus but Kodiak also offers epic landscape photography opportunities as well as many other wildlife species. You will likely see Bald Eagles and numerous other bird species. Cross Fox and Ermine are possibles as well as Hare and Mink. Guides will provide transportation to a location for lunch as decided upon by group. Dinner back at the hotel or nearby.
Day 4 (Aug. 19th) Kodiak
Breakfast at hotel or nearby coffee shop then you will be off to explore Kodiak. Bears will be the focus but Kodiak also offers epic landscape photography opportunities as well as many other wildlife species. You will likely see Bald Eagles and numerous other bird species. Cross Fox and Ermine are possibles as well as Hare and Mink. Guides will provide transportation to a location for lunch as decided upon by group. Dinner back at the hotel or nearby.

All payments are non-refundable unless a tour is cancelled due to under-enrollment, in which case you will receive a full refund of your initial deposit, or you may transfer your deposit to a future tour.
There will be no refunds if you need to cancel your trip for any reason.
In the event we need to cancel a tour due to natural disaster, pandemic, labor strikes, or any other situation that is beyond our control, there will be no refunds.
We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance as soon as you book your trip, in most cases this will be your only recourse for a refund.

Moderate. You need to be comfortable lugging your equipment in and out of vehicles and planes. There will be short hikes to photography locations.
